We have noticed some news and discussions about infant formula in the past two weeks. Wyeth Nutrition Hong Kong understands that all parents care most about their kid’s health, so we are committed to offer the highest quality products to our consumers. At the same time, Wyeth Nutrition can also confirmed that all our products are in line with the relevant local laws and regulations and are safe to consume.

3-Monochloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD) and glycidyl esters (GEs) are the two most concerned compound found in infant formulae. Let us briefly introduce these two compounds:

3-MCPD is a type of process contaminants found in a wide range of foods and food ingredients, existing in either its free form or esterified form (3-MCPD fatty acid esters). For details, please refer to this link.

GEs are process contaminants which are found in refined fats and oils, as well as in foods that are produced using these as ingredients. Common examples include margarine, fat spreads, fried potato products, infant formulae and dietary supplements. For details, please refer to this link.

All Wyeth Nutrition infant formula products are well within the latest recommendation by FAO/WHO-JECFA for 3-MCPD and below the regulatory limits established by the European Commission for GE.

The Centre for Food Safety of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region also released a statement last week which confirmed that all infant formulae tested meet the relevant standards and can be safely fed to babies. For details, please refer to this link.

Wyeth Nutrition Hong Kong will continue to adhere to strict quality supervision and provide babies with quality nutritional products.
